Eight feet of dense cotton webbing with a buckle machined from aluminium rather than pressed from steel plate, so it holds under load without the slip that makes a cheap strap useless.
Cotton rather than nylon: it does not stretch under tension, and it does not cut into the arch of a foot the way flat nylon does.
