Small weights deserve better than plastic
Pilates equipment is mostly sold on colour. A 2 lb weight in a pastel neoprene dip, a ring with moulded plastic pads, a ball full of sand — all of it priced as though the material did not matter because the load is light.
What we actually changed
The load is light. That is exactly why the material matters. A two-pound weight is in your hand for twenty minutes at a stretch, held at the end of a long lever, at a tempo that makes it feel like five. You notice everything about it — the balance, the diameter, whether it slips when your palms go damp.
So the weights are solid 304 stainless, turned and knurled, with no dip coating. Solid metal means small: our 2 lb pair is noticeably more compact than a foam-dipped weight of the same mass, which is the difference between a wide-arm sequence that flows and one where two weights keep knocking together.
The ring has aluminium pads instead of moulded plastic. The core wheel runs on sealed steel bearings in a machined hub rather than plastic end caps pressed into a tube — that joint is what fails on every cheap wheel. The roller is built around an anodised aluminium core so it does not oval out and start rolling with a wobble.
None of that makes the exercise better. It makes the object one you keep, which is the only reason equipment in a house gets used instead of put in a cupboard.
What we publish, and why
Every one of the 41 products carries the same record: materials, measured dimensions, mass, finish, origin, care, and a block of cautions.
The actual mass, not a category
A weight sold as "light" is a weight nobody can compare. Ours publish the mass each and the mass per pair, in pounds and kilograms, so you can hold something you already own and know what you are ordering.
What the material really is
304 stainless, 6061 aluminium, natural latex, boiled merino. Not "premium alloy" or "performance fabric". If it is recycled nylon and elastane we say the percentages.
The measured garment, in one stated size
Body length and inseam in size M, measured flat. A size chart of body measurements tells you about a body; a garment measurement tells you about the garment, and it is what you can check against something in your drawer.
The cautions, including the ones that lose us the sale
Natural rubber contains latex. Boiled wool is not machine washable. Uncoated steel will mark a floor if you drop it. The core wheel is demanding on a lower back. Somebody who reads that and buys something else is a customer we keep.
What we will not tell you
This is fitness equipment. It is not a medical device and it is not a therapeutic appliance. We do not claim that any product here treats, prevents, cures or rehabilitates any condition or injury, because we are not in a position to know that and neither is anyone selling you a set of hand weights.
We will not tell you what pilates will do for your back, your posture, your recovery or your pelvic floor. Those are questions for a clinician who has met you. If you are pregnant, post-surgical, or returning from an injury, please talk to yours before you start, and work with a qualified instructor before using equipment you have not been taught on.
There are no reviews on this site and no ratings. The domain is new and we are not going to manufacture a history it does not have. When there are real ones from real customers, they will appear with names attached and you will be able to tell the difference.
